Okay, so I leave tomorrow and I'm trying to get ready to go. So far my packing experience is not nearly as effortless as I thought it would be.
Over the last several months, I have taken the time to do my research about my trip to Europe. I have read oodles of articles, tips and travel guides about what I will and will not need and they basically all say the same thing: don't bring anything and it will all fit in your backpack just fine. They then proceed to list all of the things you must have even though they just told you not to bring anything. Well, I got exactly what they said, which in my mind really is nothing, and now I am mad because what do you know, it doesn't fit!
At the beginning of my packing experience I must say I was extremely confident, and even downright cocky, because they led me to believe that my preparation would make my packing experience a joy. Well, it is not a joy and now I am wondering which of the "nothings" on my floor can be left home. The debate right now is between the toothbrush and deoderant because if I take both then it won't leave room for my ipod. Which would you choose?

you crack me up. I'd take the toothbrush! Your gonna stink from all that walking even with deodorant so leave it!
hello, if you want to blend in, you obviously need to leave the deodorant (and razor) behind. I have trouble believing that anything wouldn't fit in that backpack of yours. It always stuck out 3 or 4 feet from your back. I never understood how you managed to walk normally while carrying it.
By the way, during the broadcast last night, I noticed a choir member rocking a hairstyle that was very similar to yours. Just like Jennifer Aniston got her hairstyle named after her, I think "The Monique" will sweep the nation like Spam. This is getting long, you should call me.
stoaked to read about the trip...fyi you can make so when people make comments it gets sent to your e-mail...i learned that from my sister. Yeah, Europe will be pretty cool, but I'm most excited about Hawaii :) :) :)

I just subscribed to your blog, so don't be freaked out, but my computer is watching you...I was hesitant to join the blogger crowd myself, but i really like it. Plus, I always want to check my blog, so I'm reading more of my friends blogs. When you have them on a feed, it highlights the ones that have new content and it doesn't take much time to check them all. Now yours is there, and my day will be that much brighter.
So, packing is basically one of my least favorite things in the world. It's in my top 5 biggest annoyances (1. traffic, 2. moving, 3. packing, 4. unpacking, 5. exaggerated self importance) so I sympathize. Just take solace in the fact that you will be traveling to amazing places and you can always ditch stuff as you go and buy cheap replacements at street fairs. I am mentally traveling with you and trying not to get jealous. Have fun!
